I'm dreaming of a...

WHITE CHRISTMAS!! I was telling Jason just the other day that I have wanted a white Christmas for several years now (I think the last one I had was when I was in middle school) and I think my dream is going to come true this year. We have gotten sooooo much snow and its not going anywhere anytime soon with these freezing temps. I hate driving in it but it is so pretty. I took Lacy out for about 1 minute the other day. Just long enough for a few pics. She fell over and it looked like she was making a snow angel so I snapped a pic and then she got mad so I scooped her up and brought her inside!

News from Lacyland...

My sweet little sick baby...

I haven't been posting very many blogs lately and we have Lacy to blame-lol! She has been fighting off one sickness after the other since a few days before Thanksgiving and Jason and I feel like the parents of a newborn baby all over again. The sleepless nights have been especially exhausting, she will wake-up at 2 or 3 in the morning and stay up for hours at a time. She never even did that as a newborn. She has had three ear infections now and the last one was pretty brutal. The antibiotics didn't work and before we realized it didn't work it caused vomiting and diarrhea and gave her a yeast infection and thrush. Not to mention she stopped eating. She has recently gotten her apetite back here in the last week which has been so great to see. I just get so irritated that we can't give her anything to make her feel better besides tylenol or motrin for the fever (which has been running 99 to 100 the last three days!) Well, today we took her in for her 9 month well child check-up and the doctor said that we actually can give her a very small dose of benadryl to help with the stuffiness and to help her sleep better at night. That is so great to know!! It was a relief to learn that the only shot she had to get today was a flu shot (Mommy and Daddy got one too!). We hate it when she has to get shots!
We also learned Lacy's 9 month stats today: She actually lost some weight since the last doctors visit about two weeks ago. She was 18 pounds and she is now 17 lbs 11 oz. which is in the 28th percentile. She is now 28 inches- growing like a weed! That is the 63rd percentile. I kind of figured she was tall and skinny because it seems all the clothes that fit good are too short.
Dr. Patillo says we need to start feeding her more "table" foods because she is not getting enough calories from the bottle and eating a few times a day. Only problem is Lacy is not much of a solid food eater yet and heck, she only has two teeth. We are so worried that she will choke! I guess we will just start slowly- she doesn't know how to gum stuff like a lot of other babies her age. She gags and chokes instead! I am excited to see what kinds of things she likes but nervous about things giving her a tummy ache.
Not to tut my own horn but Lacy is sooo smart. She says lots of words- baby, mama, dada and other random sounds. She loves to play patty cake, watch seasame street, the wiggles and curious george and does NOT like to sit still or sleep. She crawls all over the place and is really stnking fast. She is into exploring and loves to get into new things. She pulls herself up and walks along everything and every once in a while I catch her taking a few steps on her own from one place to another. She also will stand in one spot by herself for a pretty long time. She will be walking before we know it.
She is still a Mama's girl and it has gotten extreme. I love it and I hate it. It makes me feel great but sometimes it can be soooo exhausting. She won't let Daddy even put her to bed! Daddy is however her best play buddy. She loves to attack Daddy and laughs and laughs when he does goofy stuff.
I will be going back to school in just a few weeks now and I am dreading it but I think it will be good for Lacy to get some variety in her life :) I am just praying for the next 4 months to go by fast so we can be home together again for the summer in our NEW HOME (see blog entry below).
Miss Lacy has figured out how to open up our food cabinets...I was dreading this day. This was this afternoon...

We are building our 1st House!!!

So these pictures were all taken in the model home- we won't have everything exactly like it but pretty close. We won't have all the fancier upgrades, (tile floors and countertops- only in my dreams) but we did go with the same carpet and the island.

floorplan of our house...

Right behind where those men are standing is our lot!! (Can't tell we are excited!)...

These are the appliances we will have- I chose the black...

This is the same house we are building except this is not the color and we won't have that big room over the garage or the brick...

Master bath- we will have a bathtub instead of a stand up shower...

The vinyl that will be in the kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, and utility room...

tile for the entry way, we chose the one in the middle to match our carpet...

What our cabinets will look like and the the little thing hanging is the options for the countertops- we chose the one that is one top...

This is a pretty good shot of how it is set up. The living/dining/kitchen is sort of all one big room...

The carpet we chose...

Not the best pic but this is the living room, we won't have the fireplace...

What our kitchen will look like with the exception of some of the colors. I LOVE the island...

Not our house but this is the colors that our house will be...

Big news for us!! We are building our 1st house and couldn't be more excited!! We are so excited to be 10,000 dollars under what we wanted to pay. It is a Hayden Home that will be built in West Pasco. These pictures are of the model home which is the same home we are having built with the exception of the carriage house over the garage. They should be breaking ground in about two weeks and as long as everything goes as planned, we will be moving in in mid-March. We can hardly wait!! We picked some pretty bold colors- a lot of browns and I love it. The exterior will be a dark brown and I have included a picture of a different house with the same colors that we chose. Hope our neighbors don't mind!!

Christmas Card...

Paused to make popcorn...here it is!

Family photo...

We got a family picture taken as well (see above). Jason and I decided that Lacy of course looks adorable but we are hoping next time we get a family pic it will have about 100 less pounds in it!

Lacy's 9 months old today...

Here are the pictures we got. I will do a post later about how Lacy has changed. I can't believe that she has now been out of my tummy as long as she was in there. I felt like I was prego for years yet it seems as if she was just born yesterday! She always takes such cute pictures no matter what the occasion. We also got some christmas cards done up that I forgot to scan in but it will have to wait, I am watching Get Smart with the hubby...

Lacy just can't win!!

Well, we are home sick with the baby still. She has been antibiotics for just over a week. (three days left!!) I took her in on friday because she didn't seem to be feeling 100% better and he said there was still fluid in the ears and they were still pink so to keep giving her the meds and she would get better. Well, now the antibiotics have given her major tummy problems. She is having a hard time keeping anything down and if it stays down, it goes straight through her!! Why can't she just feel good?! Jason and I would seriously do anything to make her feel better. I suppose we will just have to ride it out, sleepless nights and all!

One of the best feelings in the WORLD...

Is watching these big beautiful blue eyes fade away to sleep every night.

Tonight it took Lacy an especially long time to fall asleep. She just layed there in my arms for a good fifteen minutes just staring at me and it was truly one of the most peacful feelings in the world!! Being a Mommy is AWESOME!!

This year for thanksgiving we went to the Ashton's family cabin to spend it with my Mom's side of the family (Abrath's). Poor little Kylie was pretty sick but still managed to be a cute little helper with Lacy. Lacy was really sick the whole time too, not eating at all for three days! We had a great time besides that. My cousins always keep me laughing and we played lots of games and had a fun gift exchange. Thanks to the Ashton's! When we got home we got Lacy to the doc and it turns out she has a pretty bad double ear infection so we got her on antibiotics and she seems to be doing much better. I got lots of pics...here are some of my favs...

My hair is GONE!

My hair has been driving me nuts lately because it was just so long and heavy and in the way so today I had it chopped off. This may be the most dramatic cut I have ever had and I love it! She cut 6 inches off and layered and thinned it. It feels and looks like someone elses hair to me- I have never had hair this thin!

TWILIGHT!!

Twilight comes out tonight at midnight and I am so excited. The original plan was to go with my sister-in-law Stefany and leave Lacy home with Daddy and since he normally doesn't work on fridays, he could get up with her so that I could sleep in. Midnight is so LATE, I never stay up that late. Especially when I have to get up with Lacy. Well, Jason ended up having to work tomorrow so I almost thought about not going. Then Stefany call and convinced me so I am going! Auntie Karen is going to come over tomorrow and watch Lacy so that Mommy can sleep in! YEAH!! Can't wait!

Happy Brithday Aunt Sheryl...

Happy Birthday!! Hope you had a great day today! Can't wait for you to come and visit!

Hayden was over and so we decided they should both say Happy Birthday- this is the best we could do with two cute babies who won't sit still! Never mind that Lacy is half dressed with her bald little head (usually she has a bow :)
