Mama!!

Lacy said Mama about 2 months ago now and Jason and I just looked at eachother and said, "wow, our baby is a genius". I do realize that she doesn't know what she is saying but still! Well, she says it all the time now, while she is mumbling her baby talk and today I got a great video of her chatting away! Enjoy!

Cute pics of my baby girl (almost 5 months old!)

Just for fun...

I want to wear my wedding ring already!!

Ok, so when I was prego, my already fatty hands got fatter! They were so swollen towards the end, my wedding ring was 2 sizes too small! I have lost all of that water weight (and all the weight I gained while prego) but the darn wedding ring still won't fit! I am convinced my fingers grew! My sister thinks I am crazy but I swear thats the only solution. So I bought some cheap fake ring to wear until I lose more weight and of course, I lost it while we were in WA. I am so tired of not being able to wear it that I am seriously considering getting it re-sized. The frustating thing is that it is now only a half size too small- I can shove it on with lots of lotion but my finger turns red (not a good thing) so I don't wear it. My solution at first was to wear it around my neck but Lacy likes to pull at it and I am always afraid that she will rub her face on it and get hurt! What do I do??!!

It looks good on Lacy-lol!

Someones got the giggles...

Lacy has started giggling A LOT lately and it is just so fun! We normally don't get it on video because it is just very random. A certain noise I will make or a silly face will just set it off. Today Daddy was home so we were able to catch it not once but twice! I have noticed that when she is particulary tired she tends to laugh more. Tonight I took her pj's off to check her diaper before bed and I started to tickle her tummy and she was ticklish! I just love being a Mommy and discovering all these new things about my daughter. She truly brightens my day all day everyday! I knew I would love having children but I did not realize just how much- it is just amazing! Side note while we are on the topic of being a Mommy- everything I thought I knew or believed about parenting went out the window when I became a parent myself! I never thought I would spoil my child but I was WRONG! And so what if she is nearly 5 months old and still sleeps in our room. I have attachment issues and I have come to terms with the fact that their is nothing wrong with her being in here. I love to be able to roll over and see her peacefully sleeping right next to me in her bed! So there!

She got the dreaded 4 month shots today...

As stated below, we (yes, Daddy got to come!) took Lacy to the doctor today and the ear infections were looking much better. I asked the doctor when we could bring her in for her shots and she said we could go ahead and do it today! I hadn't given her any tynenol because I didn't expect that so I hurried and got it out and gave her some. They had to give her 4 shots so they layed her on the table and I held her arms and they did two at a time. She screamed for a while but then went to sleep in Mommies arms. She is such a little trooper- she really hasn't been that fussy at all tonight. This time was much better then the 2 month shots- she screamed all day after those.

Lacy is eating cereal!!

Our cute little Lacy is officially eating cereal. We took her to the doctor today for a little check-up (the ear infections are getting better!) and the doctor gave us the ok to go ahead and start feeding her cereal! She seemed to like it although she kept spitting it out- she couldn't quite figure out how to keep it in her mouth but she'll get there! We were so excited and I cannot believe that I have a baby that I can feed with a spoon! She is growing up so fast!

Lacy has officially doubled her birth weight and the stubborn ear infection is still around!!

Happy and cute before the doctor's appt...

So we went to the doctor today because Lacy was scheduled to get her 4 month shots. One week ago today is when we started the antibiotics for the double ear infection so we were hoping she would be well enough today to get her shots (she is already a few weeks behind!). Turns out the ear infection was just as bad if not worse then last week! Instead of getting her 4 month shots, she had to get a shot of antibiotics and they are starting her on another, stronger oral antibiotic. Shes also very congested so we are going back on friday to make sure that clears up. If not, they may have to prescibe a machine (nebulizer thingy I think) to help her breathe. So no 4 month shots for at least another 10 days! The doctor said she would be ok to be about a month behind. My poor little baby has had a rough couple of months.
Still smiley and cute, even after a mean little shot...

On the bright side, Lacy has officially doubled her birth weight weighing in at a stunning 13 pounds 4 ounces, 24 inches long! She is our big girl! They said she is only in the 25th percentile for weight but 50th for height so she is perfect! Mommy and Daddy love you Lacy loo loo- get better soon little Mamas!

Roll over caught on camera...

So I caught Lacy rolling over today...on camera! Pictures and a video!

Jacksen Oscar Ashton!

As most of you know, we lost Jacksen about 5 1/2 months ago to a terrible accident. Jacksen is my cousin and I spent a lot of time with him, his brother and sister when he was younger. I went on several "Ashton Family" vacations with them and there was never a dull moment. This particular picture may have been taken on one of the last trips that I took with Tony, Mary and Co. I remember waiting in line for this ride. It was Me, Tony, Jack and Taryn and the line was forever long! The ride seem to have been stopped! Several people began getting out of line and the rumor was started that the ride was broken and needed to be fixed! Did we get out of line? If course not! We waited and waited and waited and whatever was wrong- was no more because the ride got going again and it was eventually our turn. After it was done, they of course want you to purchase a picture of yourself screaming like a baby. I took one look at mine and said, "Tony, you better not buy that, I look scary!" Tony being Tony, he bought it anyway and I am so glad he did. What a great memory to have frozen in time with Jack. That day I went on several other rides with the boys and they gave me a hard time about every single one- it was so fun!
I will always remember Jacksen for his love of movies, music, Harry Potter, Hiliary Duff (secret crush-lol) chips and salsa and something we had in common, babies! :) It breaks my heart that he will never get to hold any of my babies because I know he would have been GREAT with them. Although he won't hold them here on Earth, I am comforted by the fact that he is more then likely holding, playing with and taking care of all of his "future" cousins, nieces and nephews etc. until they are ready to come to Earth. He was and is a great young man and will be in our hearts forever. I am so greatful for the gospel because I know that we will be together again someday!
We love you Jack!

Lacy is rolling over...and our banana bread adventures!

I am doing another blog tonight because I had a few more things to share. First of all, Lacy just started rolling over from her stomach to her back. The other day I layed her on her tummy for the dreaded tummy time (shes not a big fan) and over she went! I was so excited so I grabbed the video camera and flipped her back over. Of course she didn't do it for the camera! I called Jason right away and told him. That night she did it for him too! What a big girl!

Getting ready to roll over!
Banana Bread...
The other day I was in a baking mood so I decided to make the only thing that I really know how to bake...banana bread. I knew I had the bananas in the freezer and I just figured I had all the other ingredients so I turned on the oven and started mixing stuff. When it came time to add the brown sugar, of course, I was all out! Here I am, not showered with no one to call to bring me brown sugar and I didn't want to have to go to the store. Then I remembered that Aunt Sheryl lives just down the road and we have keys to her house. So I called her up at work and sure enough she had some. I turned the oven off and loaded Lacy up in her carseat to go to Aunt Sheryl's for the brown sugar. When I got there and found it, I really didn't have an extra hand so I put it nest to Lacy in her carseat and asked her if she would hold it for me until we got to the car :). I put her in the car and forgot to take the brown sugar out of her seat. Well, on the short little ride home, Lacy fell asleep but listened to Mommy and held on tight to that brown sugar!

The banana bread turned out great. Thanks for the brown sugar Aunt Sheryl!

Lacy is sick :(...and shes 4 months old :) !!

Its been a while since I blogged but a lot has been going on around here. Well, mostly just us being sick. Lacy got yet another cold! This time we all got it so it hasn't been so fun. I usually would just take some Nyquil to knock myself out so I could sleep it off but that is not happening with a sick baby to take care of too! Well, it turns out Lacy's 4 month check-up was today so we headed in and I thought it was good timing cause the doctor could check out the cold too. It turns out she has a DOUBLE ear infection! Poor little thing really hasn't been showing any signs so I was very surprised but the doctor gave her antibiotics so hopefully it will be over soon. She doesn't seem to mind the nasty medicine that is suppose to taste like bubble gum. She woke-up from her afternoon nap today screaming so I figured the pain from the ear infection had set in. I think we caught it early so thats good.
They have you take all their clothes off to weigh them at the doctor so she was just in her diapy and the nurse thought she might be cold waiting for the doctor so she gave her a little gown. It was so stinking cute so of course I pulled my phone out and took pictures. It was like a little minature hospital gown. Hopefully thats the only time she will ever have to wear one. I have been trying to e-mail pics from my phone to myself but it hasn't been working lately so you don't even get to see them
:(. Here is our little sicky pooh...

On a lighter note...Lacy is already 4 months old! Man has time flown by. It seems like she was just born yesterday! So I usually try to get pictures of her each month. Here they all are so far...

Family Home Evening Craft...

I missed super saturday at church but my visiting teacher was nice enough to hang on to the materials for an FHE board I have been dying to make. Ok, I know Lacy is not quite old enough to do FHE, but this thing looked so cool and I know we will use it in the future so I made it- it is so neat! Here is the finished product...

I had some cute pics of all the kids over at Sister Grumbles house on my cell phone (six all together, three of them babies!) but when I sent them to my e-mail, they didn't come through :( Here is a picture of my little princess today though...

4th of July Weekend...

This 4th of July was going to be different then all the rest. It was the first one that we were away from all of our family for. So I thought we would have our friend Jose over but he went to Florida for the holiday. I also thought we could have Jason's Aunt Sheryl over but she went out of town too. I was kind of sad that it was just going to be us so I decided we should go to Lubbock. The idea came up that we should go to Colorado to visit Jason's Dad and his wife but after just getting back from a long exhausting trip to WA, we decided against an 8 hour drive with a baby who already hates her carseat as it is! So off to Lubbock it was to stay at our favorite hotel (embassy suites) and just have a relaxing 4th at Mackenzie Park...
I found out online that Lubbock was having a centennial celebration with a parade and street fair, concert and fire works so we decided to go to that. We got out of Hobbs around noon and were excited to get there. I thought Lacy would sleep the whole way there but she decided to fuss instead. Poor thing was so hot and tired!
I tried to get a pic of her screaming her head off but of course she stops when the camera comes out. Jason says she has a reputation to uphold as a "good baby"!
We got to Lubbock, checked into our hotel, fed the baby, took some pictures and headed out to the park.

After a long journey (the dang park was hard to find and it was even harder to find a decent place to park) we finally made it and found a place to lay out our blanket and relax. That didn't last long because I am not much for relaxing outdoors with a baby. There were ants crawling all over our blanket and all I could think was we are never going to make it until dark! My poor hubby was so annoyed! We decided to move. After we moved, I finally started to relax and I am so glad that we decided to stay. We had a great time! We ate real 4th of July food, corndogs, funnel cake, nachos, shaved ice! It was so nice to be able to spend time together as a family.

We also got lots of great pictures! We thought we would make it until dark so that we could watch the fireworks but Lacy woke-up from a nap grumpy and we knew it was time to head out. So besides all the bug bites we later discovered (thankfully, none on Lacy, that I can tell) and a grumpy Mommy- we had a great time in a beautiful place!

Beautiful blue eyes...

Lacy got to see some fireworks on T.V. that night at the hotel after her bath. The best we could do with a cranky, tired baby! She did seem to like them though.

Ok, ok I'll try it...

So I don't know how much blogging I can do but it looks fun so I will try. We will see though because I am a true myspacer at heart!

Here is our little chubby face on the 4th of July. So stinking cute!
